Summer Sips: Fruity Freshness

Summertime brings a bounty of juicy fruits that are ripe for the picking and for shaking up in cocktails! Take a walk through any farmer’s market and you’ll find cherries, blackberries, apricots, and peaches to name a few.

Any of these fruits would make a fresh and tasty drink, but our two favorite seasonal fruits are what we are using for this weeks Summer Sips: Cantaloupes and Figs!

We are getting our fill of figs and cantaloupes while they can still be enjoyed at their freshest!  While this may sound like an unusual combo, cantaloupe and figs are often combined! Almost any plate of cheese or prosciutto  will have them, so why not marry these flavors together for the perfect seasonal sip?

We would pour this summertime concoction into our Everyday Sloped Mini Highball glass. Monogram the highball with our featured font Emily, just like this fruity drink, this typeface is whimsical, fanciful, with a bit of pizazz.

Fig & Melon Martini

Yields 1

1.5 ounces Fig and Vanilla Vodka

1.5 ounces cantaloupe purée

0.5 ounce Cointreau

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon maple syrup

1. Puree 1/8 of a ripe cantaloupe with 2 tablespoons of water in a blender or a food processor.
2. In a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice, add all the ingredients, including the cantaloupe puree. Shake until everything is combined and icy cold.
3. Strain the mixture into a slightly chilled martini glass and garnish with a thin slice of melon threaded onto a wooden skewer around a half slice of ripe fig.
