how to write a great thank you note!

With graduation season wrapping up, it’s now Thank You Card season!

You cannot underestimate the power of a hand written thank you card. Sure, emails and texts can suffice for an everyday kind gesture, but when you receive a gift marking a momentous occasion, only a classic thank you note will suffice.

But don’t fret – writing a thoughtful thank you doesn’t have to be stressful. There are three simple keys to a great thank that are quick and easy.

1. BE SPECIFIC. Be sure to mention exactly what the person gave you and how you plan to enjoy it. For example. Thanks for the lovely tote, Grandma. I can’t wait to take it to the shore with me this summer! The specificity will really make them feel appreciated.

2. BE TIMELY. Yes, tradition says you have six months to write a thank you but really within a month is best!

3. SEND CUTE STATIONERY of course! There’s nothing that says you’re entering the next phase of life than monogrammed stationery. Or perhaps you’d prefer a symbolic mark like an anchor or a cheeky pet lovers’ motif.

So before you run off to enjoy summer vacation, be sure to say thank you to all those who supported you this year!
