Vodka is often a neutral and versatile spirit that can be added to many cocktails. For this Honey Citrus drink, we decided to go bold instead of neutral with Dragon Fruit vodka to give it sweet and sour flavor with a floral undertone. Dragon Fruit vodka and a flower garnish adds an exotic and tropical touch to citrus juices.

Honey Citrus Cocktail

Yield: 1

Ingredients

4 ounces Skyy Infused Dragon Fruit vodka
2 teaspoons honey
4 ounces fresh squeezed grapefruit juice
2 ounces fresh squeezed orange juice
Sugar rim

Directions

1. Add the honey, vodka, grapefruit juice and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker with ice.
2. Shake for 10 seconds and set aside.
3. Wet the rim of the goblet with an orange or grapefruit wedge. Dip the glass, upside down, in a plate of sugar to coat the entire rim evenly.
4. Pour the cocktail into the goblet and add ice. Garnish with a fresh flower and enjoy!

What’s next on your busy travel schedule?

Puerto Rico. I used to live there when I was young, so I’m particularly excited about this trip.

What inspires your travels? 

I’ve been a world traveler since the age of eight and can count the places I’ve lived with two hands, so I have to think it is part of my DNA. It is the endless curiosity of exploring and learning that keeps me constantly on the go.

It was the kind of experience that only happens once in a lifetime.

Do you collect anything while away?

I collect business cards on every trip, from bars, restaurants, shops, galleries, hole-in-the-wall establishments, hotels, and the list goes on.

What will you be packing for this island getaway?

I’m a light packer, and I tend to pack the same items for every trip. For me it is about pieces I can dress up or down no matter where I am in the world.

Mojitos are a sweet and refreshing way to beat the heat on a squelching hot summer day. Traditional mojitos consist of lime, rum, mint and club soda, but you can add any number of fruits, syrups and herbs to shake up the flavor profile.

Coconut Mango Mojitos

Yields 1

Ingredients

6-8 fresh mint leaves
2 1/2ounces of mint simple syrup
1 ounce of coconut rum
1 1/2 ounces of club soda
1-2 ounces of mango puree
Juice of one lime

Directions

1. To make the mango puree, combine 1 peeled mango in a food processor with the juice of 1 lime and process until smooth.
2. In the bottom of a glass, add 1 ounce of simple syrup and the mint leaves. Muddle.
3. Add ice to the glass, and pour rum, syrup, mango puree, lime juice and club soda over top.
4. Mix with a long spoon and serve with an additional sprig of mint.
